The story of kay me starts in Osaka, west Japan, with kay me founder Junko Kemi’s grandmother.

Junko’s grandmother owned and ran a kimono shop, and as a child Junko loved to visit the shop and see her grandmother helping her customers to choose stylish new kimono for special events and occasions.

Moved by the power that a perfectly well-suited garment could have, Junko was deeply impressed by these childhood experiences and her grandmother’s work-ethic continues to be an influence.

kay me is proud of our authentic Japanese background, and our Japanese influence can be seen in our unique prints based on antique kimono designs and our impeccable standards of quality and service.
